PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: August 16, 2025

  1. INTRODUCTION
This Privacy Policy explains how Podcast724 (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our mobile applications and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By downloading or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Podcast724 is based on open-source software and includes advertisements to support its development. We prioritize your privacy, storing most data locally on your device, but third-party advertising SDKs may collect certain data to improve ad relevance.
  2. SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS
We do not directly collect personal data beyond what's necessary, but third-party SDKs may collect device identifiers (including Advertising ID) for advertising purposes and other data may be automatically collected through third-party SDKs.
We include advertising features, and data may be shared with third-party ad networks (e.g., Google Mobile Ads / AdMob) for personalized ads, analytics, and measurement.
Podcast subscriptions and settings are stored locally, but may be shared with podcast hosts or sync services if enabled.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or other jurisdictions with data protection laws, we will only process your personal data where we have a legal basis to do so (e.g., your consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interests, or legal obligation). For personalized advertising, we often rely on consent or legitimate interests depending on applicable law and region.
For full details, read the sections below.
  3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
    A. Information you provide directly
We may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as authentication data for specific podcasts or services (e.g., synchronization), or feedback submitted via the app or our forum.

B. Information automatically collected
We automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you use the Services, including:

Device identifiers (Yes). Examples: Advertising ID (a user-resettable identifier provided by Google Play services), Android ID, and other device identifiers. These may be collected automatically by third-party SDKs (e.g., Google Mobile Ads) integrated into the app for advertising purposes.

Network and device information. Examples: IP address, operating system, device model, app version, and other diagnostic data.

Usage information. Examples: Podcasts subscribed, episodes played, app screens visited, feature usage, and performance metrics. This may include data collected by ad SDKs to measure ad interactions.

All such data is stored locally on your device unless shared for synchronization or advertising.

C. Sensitive data
We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as racial/ethnic origin, religion, health data, or biometric identifiers) except where explicitly stated and only with your consent if required by applicable law. Podcast content may include sensitive topics, but we do not process or store such content beyond local playback.

  1. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use collected information for purposes including, but not limited to:

Delivering and operating the Services, such as managing subscriptions, downloads, and playback.
Displaying and measuring advertising (including personalized ads) and improving ad relevance through third-party SDKs.
Analytics and product improvement (understanding usage and fixing issues).
Enabling optional features like synchronization of subscriptions and playback history.
Security, fraud prevention, and anti-abuse.
Communicating with you about updates, support, or policy changes (if you opt in where required).

  1. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING (WHERE APPLICABLE)
  2. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION
    We may share information with:

Third-party advertising networks and analytics providers (e.g., Google LLC — Google Mobile Ads / AdMob, Google Play services) to deliver, measure, and optimize ads and app performance. These third parties may collect identifiers (such as Advertising ID) and other data from the app.

Podcast hosts: When subscribing or downloading episodes, podcast servers may receive your IP address, access time, and details of what is accessed (e.g., episodes streamed or downloaded). This may include authentication data if provided in podcast settings. Refer to the podcast host's privacy policy for details.

Discovery and search services: When using search or discovery features, services like PodcastIndex.org, Apple Podcasts, or fyyd may receive your query terms, IP address, time, and app name ("Podcast724"). These help suggest podcasts but are not involved after subscription.

Synchronization services: If enabled, data like subscriptions, playback events, and timestamps may be shared with your chosen provider (e.g., gpodder.net). See their privacy policy for details.

Service providers: For hosting community resources like our forum or GitHub repository, where data is handled under their policies (e.g., GitHub for issue tracking).

Legal and safety reasons: When required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. If this changes, we will disclose that clearly.

  1. DISCLAIMER
The information and content accessible through Podcast724, including podcast episodes, feeds, descriptions, and advertisements, are provided by third-party podcast creators, hosts, and ad networks. While we facilitate access to podcasts and display ads to support the app, we do not create, endorse, or verify the accuracy, timeliness, reliability, or suitability of any content or ads. Podcast content and advertisements may include opinions, advice, or information that is incorrect, incomplete, offensive, harmful, misleading, or illegal. Users are solely responsible for evaluating and acting on any content or ads they access or interact with.

Examples of potential risks include:

This app and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You acknowledge that your use of the app is entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to personal injury, emotional distress, property damage, loss of data, financial loss, or other losses — arising from or in connection with the use of this app, reliance on its content or ads, interactions with advertisements, or the inability to use the app, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. As an app based on open-source software licensed under GPL-3.0 (with parts under MIT), there is no warranty, and modifications or distributions must comply with the licenses.

  1. DEVICE IDENTIFIERS & ADVERTISING ID
The app may use the Advertising ID, a user-resettable identifier provided by Google Play services, to support advertising and ad measurement. Advertising ID is considered a “Device or other ID” under Google Play’s Data safety.

The Advertising ID may be collected automatically by embedded advertising SDKs (e.g., Google Mobile Ads) and transmitted to third-party ad networks, mediation partners, and analytics providers for ad delivery, personalization, and measurement.

Advertising ID opt-out
To opt out of personalized advertising and reset your Advertising ID:
Open your device Settings → Google → Ads → Turn on Opt out of Ads Personalization (or similar on some devices).
You can also Reset advertising ID in the same settings screen.
Note: Opting out does not stop ads from being shown; it only limits personalized ads.

  1. LOCATION DATA
Podcast724 does not request or collect location data. If any future updates require it (e.g., for ad relevance), we will explicitly seek permission and explain the purpose.
  2. DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it.
  3. SECURITY
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We encourage you to take steps to protect your data.
  4. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SDKS
Our app may include or rely upon third-party SDKs for ads, analytics, crash reporting, and related services (e.g., Google Mobile Ads / AdMob). These SDKs operate under their own privacy policies and may collect and process data independently, such as device identifiers, IP addresses, and usage data to improve ad targeting and measurement. Examples of third-party providers we use include Google LLC (Google Mobile Ads, Google Play services). We recommend reviewing those third parties’ privacy notices for more detail. We may update our list of providers from time to time. The app may also interact with third-party services for podcast discovery, synchronization, or imports (e.g., PodcastIndex.org, Apple Podcasts, fyyd), which handle data under their policies.
  5. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Services are not intended for children under the age of 13 (or other age as required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
  6. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, objection to processing, restriction, data portability, and withdrawing consent. Since most data is stored locally, you can manage it directly in the app (e.g., delete subscriptions or exports). For any shared data, contact us at support@android724.com. We respond to verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law.
  7. DO NOT TRACK
We do not currently respond to automated Do-Not-Track signals from browsers or devices.
  8. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy without prior notice to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post a revised date at the top of the policy. We have no responsibility to notify users directly of any changes, and users are encouraged to check this policy periodically for updates. For material changes, we may notify you via the app or email where required by law.
  9. CONTACT US
